Burning By-Law When do I need a fire permit? You Will need a permit for an open air fire up to one cubic meter excluding campfires up to 60 cm (24") in diameter. A special Burn Permit is required for fires larger than 1 cubic meter (39 cubic inches). You do NOT need a permit if the following conditions
Regular Burn Permits (up to 1 cubic meter) are $5 and available at Municipal Service Centres, From Fire Prevention Inspectors or from Fire captains at any Fire Hall. Special Burn Permits (over 1 cubic meter) are $10 and available from Fire Inspectors or from Fire Captains at any Fire Hall. Agricultural Permits are $25 and are valid for one year. This allows burning that is considered normal farming practice. These permits are available at Municipal Service Centres, from Fire Prevention Inspectors or from Fire Captains at any Fire Hall. |
